About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor (5+ years’ PQE) to lead our growing Employment team.
This senior position offers autonomy, direct client contact, and a clear progression pathway. You will act as a trusted adviser for employer clients—ranging from owner-managed businesses to international groups—handling both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Within Oury Clark’s multidisciplinary firm, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues from Corporate, Tax, Immigration, Insolvency, and Accountancy to deliver smart, practical solutions. The role is high-quality, varied, and void of internal politics—ideal for a technically strong, commercially focused lawyer with an appetite for shaping the future of the Employment practice.

- Complex disciplinary matters and grievances
- Redundancy processes and organisational restructures
- TUPE advice for business transfers
- Employment Tribunal litigation (unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, breach of contract)
- Senior executive exits and negotiated settlements
- Restrictive covenants and post-termination disputes
- Drafting and advising on employment contracts, service agreements, and staff handbooks
- Retained HR advisory services
- Employment aspects of M&A and restructurings (partnering with Corporate and Tax teams)
- Employee incentive arrangements and share schemes
Additionally:
- Manage Tribunal litigation from pre-claim strategy to final hearing
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and trainees
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Identify cross-referral opportunities across the firm
- Participate in marketing, networking, and business development
- Contribute strategically to the growth of the Employment team
Key Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 5+ years’ PQE in Employment Law
- Strong experience advising employer clients on contentious & non-contentious work
- Proven ability to manage Tribunal litigation independently
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Commercially-focused and solution-driven mindset
- Skilled in managing significant caseloads with minimal supervision
- Corporate transaction experience (employment law perspective)
- Enthusiasm for mentoring junior colleagues
- Clear ambition to progress towards partnership
