The Role
The Property Fund Finance team is responsible for the financial operations of over £30bn of property funds managed by M&G Real Estate.
This role involves providing financial control and oversight services of UK Property Funds managed by M&G Real Estate.
Reporting into the Manager, Property Fund Finance: The Senior Associate will be responsible for providing financial control and oversight services to the following:
- M&G Affordable Living Fund (an open-ended fund investing in Affordable Living, regulated by the Regulatory of Social Housing requiring quarterly unit pricing and reporting).
- Prudential Real Estate Limited Partnership (PRELP) (an open-ended partnership investing in UK properties requiring monthly unit pricing and reporting).
The Senior Associate will work closely with Third Party Administrators (“TPA”) in performing the role. The role will also involve ensuring building a strong working relationship with the M&G Mumbai team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial, regulatory and investor reporting across a portfolio of real estate funds, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery by third-party service providers.
- Review fund performance, NAV calculations, cashflow forecasts, budgets and management information, providing challenge and insight to support decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external administrators, auditors, tax advisers and other service providers, ensuring delivery against agreed standards and timelines.
- Support board governance activities, including investor reporting, financial oversight papers, distribution recommendations and board meeting materials.
- Review annual reports, statutory accounts and financial statements, coordinating audit activities and resolving financial reporting queries.
- Support regulatory reporting and compliance requirements, including Annex IV and other fund-related submissions.
- Assist with acquisitions, financing activities and structural changes, including preparation of accounting and governance documentation.
- Maintain a robust control environment through effective oversight, documented procedures, control reviews and continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Fund Management, Real Estate and Finance teams to deliver high-quality financial control and oversight services.
- Contribute to strategic projects, operational improvements and broader team objectives while providing support and cover where required.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Experience in fund finance, financial reporting, fund accounting or financial control, ideally within real estate, asset management or investment management environments.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, statutory accounts and audit processes.
- Knowledge of real estate fund structures and accounting principles, with real estate accounting experience preferred.
- Experience overseeing and reviewing the work of third-party administrators, service providers or outsourced finance functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify risks, trends and inconsistencies within financial information.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to present and communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Understanding of regulatory, compliance and governance requirements relevant to investment funds would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Yardi Voyager or similar property accounting systems is beneficial.
- Proactive, self-motivated and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to maintaining a robust control environment.
