MUFG Investor Services provides asset servicing solutions to the global investment management industry, leveraging the capabilities of MUFG—one of the largest banks in the world with $2.8 trillion in assets.
This role focuses on data governance support, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency while contributing to MUFG’s Risk Management frameworks. You’ll drive improvements in data management while fostering collaboration across business, risk, compliance, and technology teams.

Role Overview
The Senior Associate, Data Governance will:
- Implement and maintain MUFG Investor Services’ data governance framework.
- Elevate data management as a strategic asset, directly supporting compliance, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance Framework
- Assist in the rollout and ongoing maintenance of MUFG’s data governance framework.
Policy and Documentation
- Support the creation and updating of data management policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Maintain the Data Catalogue, Data Taxonomy, and Critical Data Elements (CDE) tracking.

Data Quality & Workflow
- Help manage metadata and perform data quality assessments.
- Identify, monitor, and help remediate data issues across operations.
Reporting & Analysis
- Support data maturity assessments and generate reporting for management stakeholders and governance committees.
- Develop and maintain data ownership records, Responsible-Accountable-Consulted-Informed (RACI) matrices.
Training & Engagement
- Contribute to data governance training materials and awareness initiatives.
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Risk, Business, or a related field.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification from DAMA or a similarly recognised framework is advantageous.
Professional Experience
- 3+ years in data governance, risk, compliance, or a related field within financial services preferred.
- Hands-on experience with data governance frameworks and data lifecycle management.

- Knowledge of data governance tools (e.g., data catalogues, data quality platforms).
- Exposure to cross-functional teamwork in high-regulation environments.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong grasp of data governance principles, including metadata, data quality, access management, and lifecycle stages.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills.
- Clear communication—can engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to data remediation.
