Construction Solicitor – Senior Role – Nationwide

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join Stone King’s Construction team, offering a dynamic and growing environment with a hybrid working model. While based at any of our offices, the role may include occasional travel for client engagements depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client & Team Management: Oversee an individual caseload, delegate to junior colleagues, and provide dynamic supervision.
  • Client Relationships: Build and nurture relationships with existing and new clients, ensuring a premium service.
  • Communication: Deliver prompt and effective internal + external stakeholder interactions—collaborating across teams, clients, and disciplines.
  • Professional Growth: Actively pursue continuing professional development and stay current with legal advancements.
  • Alumnus Engagement: Produce work of the highest standard, adhering to the Firm’s core values, policies, and procedures.
  • Business Development: Work with the Marketing & Business Development Team to grow the Firm’s reputation and client base.
  • Financial Oversight: Participate in the annual budget process and ensure the team’s financial performance aligns with targets.

Requirements

Essential

  • Five+ years’ experience as a Solicitor or Barrister, with a strong track record in non-contentious construction matters.
  • Leadership experience: Proven ability to manage teams, supervise juniors, and mentor colleagues.
  • Business Development potential: Candidates should demonstrate natural networking skills and an interest in marketing the Firm. Ideal engagement areas include:
    • Lectures/workshops
    • Tender/proposal support
    • Client pitching programs
  • Suitable for roles/expands Firm’s market profile: Shareable examples of advancing diversity and specialised expertise in construction and infrastructure.
  • Development mindsets: Commitment to career progression, upskilling, and continuous learning.

Desirable

  • Work experience in Education, Charity or Public Sector funding.
  • Dually qualified candidates: Professionals with both legal and construction qualifications, holding MRICS, MCIOB, or similar.
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) credential: Membership in Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, with expertise in arbitration, adjudication, or third-party mediation.
