About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our prestigious Education team, based in either our Bath or London office. This role offers a hybrid working model, with two days in the office per week, providing flexibility whileMAINUMAINtaining professional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Associate in Education Law, your role will include the following key duties:

Time & Performance Management
- Meet or exceed firm expectations for accurate record-keeping of both chargeable and non-chargeable hours, ensuring timely progress monitoring and revenue optimisation.

Project Leadership & Client Service
- Lead complex transactions and projects, implementing best-practice matter management to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Define universally high service delivery standards, ensuring work is aligned with client needs and firm policies.
- Supervise junior team members, balancing workload demands while maintaining quality control.

Revenue & Growth Initiatives
- Nurture client relationships to secure new business and retention contracts.
- Proactively drive marketing and thought leadership initiatives, expanding the firm’s profile and expertise.
- Identify new markets and opportunities, aligning strategic initiatives with firm growth vision.

Team Dynamics & Performance Culture
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and high performance across the team.
- Provide coaching and support to colleagues, while upholding collegiality and internal solidarity.

- Professional Compliance & Dependability
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and legal standards, safeguarding the firm’s integrity.

- Participate in business development activities, including pitches, seminars, and networking events.
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Specialist knowledge of Education Law, with hands-on experience in:
- Corporate or education mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- (Desirable) Charity Law for cross-sector capacity.
- Proven supervision experience, including mentoring and performance-led management of junior team members.
- Aggressive business development flair, with a track record of:
- Generating new revenue streams through targeted campaigns.
- Presenting expertise to clients (e.g., workshops, pitches, and tenders).
- Meticulous self-management, including:
- Self-monitoring for chargeable time discipline, accurate billing, and cost efficiency.
- Independent project management with stakeholder alignment and organised workloads.
- Licence legal proficiency and advanced technical grasp of Education and Independent School Law.
