The Opportunity
An exciting chance to join our dynamic Construction team. This role can be based at any of our offices with hybrid working options. Occasional travel to other offices or client sites may be required based on project demands.
Social and career growth opportunities await within a highly respected firm. From the start, you’ll work with a distinguished client base and collaborate closely with our Tier 1-ranked Education team, consistently praised by clients and recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500, including individual accolades.
Beyond the Education sector, you’ll also contribute to non-contentious construction matters across other sectors, particularly Charity and Business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload and delegate across junior team members as appropriate.
- Build and nurture client relationships, ensuring all receive excellent service.
- Collaborate effectively within the immediate team and wider firm.
- Communicate efficiently, both internally and externally.
- Support ongoing professional development and stay updated on legal advancements.
- Uphold the firm’s high standards, policies, and values.
- Work with the Business Development & Marketing teams to enhance client reputation and growth.
- Participate in annual budgets and ensure the Construction team’s financial success.
Ongoing professional growth is a priority—expect access to workshops, seminars, and insights shared with both the firm and clients.
Requirements
Essential
- An experienced solicitor or barrister with a strong background in non-contentious construction matters.
- Proven ability as an effective manager/supervisor.
- Candidates with marketing potential and business development focus. Responsibilities may include attending seminars, networking events, giving workshops or participating in tenders/pitches.
- Experience demonstrating diversity and expertise in construction and infrastructure.
- Commitment to career development and continuous learning.
Desirable
- Experience within the Education, Charity and Public Sector funding.
- Dual qualifications in law and construction, particularly membership of professional bodies like MRICS, MCIOB, or similar.
- Specialist qualifications in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ARB), arbitration, adjudication, or membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
