Senior Assurance Consultant / Test Manager
Location: Hybrid – London

We are seeking an experienced, consultative, and collaborative Senior Assurance Consultant. You’ll drive testing for diverse, high-visibility projects vital to major businesses, often with outcomes visible to the public.
Core Responsibilities
- Support delivery: Assist the Principal Consultant / Programme Test Manager in implementing the Test Strategy.
- Promote best practices: Champion Acutest’s testing principles on client engagements.
- Identify opportunities: Recognise areas for introducing Acutest’s key services to drive client value.
- Community involvement: Engage with Trustmarque and Acutest networks.
- Service development: Contribute to evolving assurance testing frameworks.
- Mentorship: Guide team members, clients, and colleagues in best-practice assurance.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Test Leadership
- Create and execute Project / Programme Test Plans.
- Review critical project documents (requirements, designs, tests) for compliance and gaps.

Risk & Assessment
- Perform risk-based analyses of specifications and test assets.
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to assess risk.
Estimation & Scheduling
- Provide detailed estimates for test preparation and execution phases.
- Oversee test schedules for projects/releases and manage offshored teams.
Defect Management
- Implement defect triage processes to ensure prioritisation and resolution.
- Monitor defect status reporting as outlined in the Test Strategy.
Stakeholder & Client Relationships
- Maintain strong third-party relationships (vendors, suppliers).
- Lead discussions with stakeholders regarding product quality decisions.
- Effectively collaborate across technical and non-technical team members.
Progress & Decision Support
- Produce accurate reports on test progress and defect status.
- Equip stakeholders with data to informed decision-making.
Team & Organisational Support
- Lead test teams (day-to-day management).
- Align testing with business objectives and drive best-in-class discipline.
Essential Requirements
- Testing leadership: Proven history of responsibility for first-level test delivery.
- Documentation mastery: Expertise in reviewing and refining project/test artefacts.
- Technical & business collaboration: Ability to bridge gaps between SBU and technical staff.
- Estimation & risk analysis: High-level comfort with test effort calculation and prioritisation.
- Defect management: Experience with robust defect lifecycle processes.
- Communication clarity: Fluent interaction with client and supplier teams (both technical and non-technical).
- Change management: Aptitude for inspiring and supporting adoption of process improvements.

Desirable Experience (Bonus)
- Cloud/data transformation: Support for projects where assurance parallels business goals.
- Moderating key workshops: facilitation of risk workshops, test planning, or defect prioritisation sessions.
- Process innovation: Identified opportunities for improving Shift-Left testing, acceptance criteria, or defect discipline.
- Emerging tools: Exposure to automation, AI-assisted testing, or Responsible AI deployment.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid location: Based in London (or beyond).
- Travel: Routine but carved to accommodate personal commitments.
