Job Opportunity: Senior Atlassian Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Atlassian Administrator based in the United Kingdom.

Join a collaborative technology team where you'll play a key role in optimizing and scaling the Atlassian ecosystem that supports business-critical operations. In this position, you'll design, administer, and enhance Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management environments while driving automation, integrations, and process improvements across multiple teams. You'll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and ensure a stable, secure, and efficient collaboration platform. Beyond technical administration, you'll mentor colleagues, share best practices, and contribute to the continuous evolution of internal tools and processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Atlassian specialist who enjoys combining technical expertise with strategic thinking in a remote, innovation-driven environment.

Accountabilities

  • Administer, configure, and optimize Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Assets to support business and engineering teams.
  • Design and maintain workflows, permission schemes, issue types, field configurations, dashboards, reports, and security settings.
  • Develop and maintain automation rules and scripts to streamline internal processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Atlassian products and external platforms such as GitLab, Slack, Google Workspace, HR systems, and other business applications.
  • Create and enhance project structures, documentation, governance models, and internal collaboration processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, user support, training sessions, and workshops to maximize effective adoption of Atlassian tools across the organization.
  • Coordinate with vendor support teams and manage platform updates, releases, and continuous improvements while ensuring system stability and security.
  • Contribute to long-term platform strategy by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and enhanced productivity.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering Atlassian Cloud products, including Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Assets.
  • Strong knowledge of Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud architecture, permission management, security schemes, and platform administration.
  • Experience designing and maintaining complex workflows, screen schemes, field configurations, notification schemes, and permission models.
  • Proficiency with Jira Automation, Power Scripts (SIL), or similar workflow automation solutions.
  • Experience integrating Atlassian products with third-party platforms such as GitLab, Slack, Google Workspace, HRIS systems, or other enterprise applications.
  • Solid understanding of Jira Service Management, Assets, custom portal forms, reporting, and service workflows.
  • Experience mentoring users, delivering training, and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Groovy, Go, JavaScript, API-based integrations, n8n, Zapier, Workato, Opsgenie, Statuspage, or HR platforms such as HiBob, BambooHR, or SAP SuccessFactors would be considered an advantage.
  • Experience designing and managing Assets schemas and automation is a plus.
