Senior Manager - Chartered Accountants
A firm of Chartered Accountants in the Bradford area is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join their leadership team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who enjoys working closely with owner-managed businesses and is keen to deliver a genuinely rounded accountancy service across accounts, tax, and advisory.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a diverse and loyal portfolio of clients, spanning a broad range of sectors. The portfolio is intentionally mixed, incorporating accounts preparation, tax planning, and business advisory, offering variety and the chance to build deep client relationships.
While some exposure to audit work may be beneficial, audit experience is not a prerequisite, making this role particularly suited to those from a general practice background who prefer a broader advisory focus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing a varied portfolio of OMB clients
- Overseeing accounts and tax compliance work, ensuring high technical standards
- Providing proactive business and tax advice tailored to client needs
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Building long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth
- Contributing to the strategic development of the firm

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
