Senior Audit Manager

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum (depending on experience) + comprehensive benefits

Location: Surrey (Hybrid working available)

Are you an experienced audit professional looking for the opportunity to influence client relationships, lead high-performing teams, and play a key role in shaping the future of a growing Accountancy practice? This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Audit Manager to join a highly respected firm offering a varied client portfolio, genuine autonomy, and a clear pathway for further career progression.

As a Senior Audit Manager, you'll work closely with senior leadership, managing complex audit assignments while acting as a trusted adviser to a diverse range of businesses. The role combines technical excellence with commercial involvement, giving you the opportunity to contribute to business development, mentor future leaders, and deliver exceptional client service across Surrey.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of audit clients, from owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate groups.
  • Leading the planning, execution, and completion of statutory and non-statutory audits.
  • Building strong relationships with business owners, directors, and key stakeholders.
  • Working closely with Partners and Directors on client strategy, technical matters, and commercial opportunities.
  • Reviewing financial statements prepared under UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS.
  • Identifying audit risks and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently, on budget, and in line with professional standards.
  • Leading and supporting due diligence, investigations, valuations, and other specialist assignments where required.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior members of the audit team.
  • Driving continuous improvement across audit processes and quality standards.
  • Supporting business development activities, including proposals and networking opportunities.

What we're looking for

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with significant experience within an Accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience managing a varied portfolio of audit clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS.
  • Excellent understanding of UK auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, and developing audit teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Transaction support or corporate finance exposure would be advantageous but is not essential.
