Audit Senior - Finchley

We are looking for an Audit Senior to join our growing team in Finchley. This is a senior-level position that involves leading audit and accounting engagements, managing client relationships, and supervising junior staff.

The role requires a high level of expertise in auditing, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Audit Planning & Preparation

  • Primarily responsible for completion of planning on Pro Audit.
  • Preparation of Information Request.
  • Preparation of Assignment Terms Letter.
  • Discussion with Manager/Partner to enhance planning.

Client Engagement & On-Site Management

  • Primary on-site contact for client, responsible for building and developing client relationships.
  • Driving on-site process, ensuring adherence to budget.
  • Responsible for notifying Manager/Partner of any issues, likely deviations from budget, or potential extensions to scope of work.
  • Responsible for updating client regularly on progress and outstanding information.

Financial Statement & Audit File Responsibilities

  • Responsible for initial drafting of financial statements and liaising with CT to get first draft.
  • Tackling trickier areas of audit file.
  • Delivery of sections ready for on-site review to Partner and Manager.
  • Primarily responsible for delivering a clean file to the Manager ready for final review.
  • Responsible for making final updates to accounts ready for Partner/Manager review.
  • Responsible overall for clearing review points.

Technical & Accounting Tasks

  • Export adjusting journals to AP as they are finalised.
  • Responsible for compilation of responses to CT queries.
  • Export final adjusting journals to AP including CT provision.
  • Responsible for preparation of Letter of Representation and Management Letter.

  • Available to junior staff members to answer queries, enhance their understanding, and review their work.
  • Carry out mentoring sessions for junior team.
  • Responsible for completing supervisor reports for Juniors and Semi-Seniors.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently (desirable)
  • Knowledge of professional and technical standards, auditing software, and agreed practices
  • Experience mentoring junior and semi-senior staff (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective time management, balancing work with studying for a Level 7 qualification
  • Strong problem-solving abilities (desirable)
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in audit

Education

  • Near completion of Level 7 ACA or equivalent
  • Degree-level qualification
