Advance TRS is partnering with a leading utilities company, part of a well-established multi-utility group, to recruit a Senior Authorised Person (Operations Engineer) to join their growing Technical and Operations team.
Salary: 80-100k

In this role, you will use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to support the construction, auditing, and energisation of electricity networks. You will also play a key role in mentoring teams, supporting project delivery, and ensuring operational compliance to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and mentoring operational staff
- Carrying out competency assessments
- Pre-commissioning and testing of 11kV & LV switchgear
- Liaising with DNO engineers for connections and energisation
- Supporting HV/LV self-connect activities and fault response
- Installing and testing CT metering wiring in line with industry standards
Experience / Knowledge required:
- Previous experience in the utilities sector in a similar operational role
- Strong knowledge of HV and LV distribution networks, equipment, and construction methods

Qualifications:
- HNC (or equivalent) with solid theoretical and practical knowledge of single and three-phase LV and HV systems
- Current or previous DNO/iDNO 11kV AP or SAP operational authorisation
- Recognised supervisory Health & Safety qualification (e.g. SSSTS or IOSH)
The role involves travel to various project sites, with occasional overnight stays, so flexibility is important. Candidates based in or around London are particularly encouraged to apply.
