400kV Senior Authorised Person– HVDC Project – Scotland- Day rate, Outside IR35 – 12 Month Contract
Hunter Philips are supporting a major EPC contractor delivering one of the UK's largest HVDC infrastructure projects and are looking to appoint an experienced 400kV Senior Authorised Person to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the 400kV Senior Authorised Person for site operations.
- Managing High Voltage safety documentation, permits, and switching activities.
- Supporting the installation and future commissioning of HV infrastructure.
- Ensuring all works comply with National Grid Safety Rules and site procedures.
- Reviewing contractor documentation and ensuring works are ready before authorisation.
- Working closely with construction, engineering, and project management teams.
- Providing technical guidance on HV safety and operational compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements
- Current or recent 400kV Senior Authorised Person authorisation.
- Strong knowledge of National Grid Safety Rules.
- Experience working on transmission, substation, or HVDC projects.
- Comfortable working within large EPC or principal contractor environments.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and maintain high safety standards.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Contract Details
- Outside IR35
- 12 month initial contract with long-term project pipeline.
- Monday to Friday.
- Scotland based site.
