**Position Overview: Testing Lead (37.5 Hours/Week, Full-Time)
Purpose
As the Testing Lead, you will:
- BSI Perform specialist hardware and software testing for Micro Nav’s internal and customer on-site projects, with a focus on automation frameworks.
- MNG Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members, deepening their understanding of Micro Nav systems and testing techniques.
- ENG Serve as a mentor, advisor, and technical authority across engineering teams and leaders.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Core Testing Leadership
- Contribute to design, development, and execution of software engineering and testing procedures.
- Lead complex testing for internal and customer projects, including focal points for requisite teams.
- Maintain full domain responsibility for the products, processes, and solutions tested.
- Equip junior team members to apply best practices in hardware/software compatibility and testing.
Process Improvement & Best Practices
- Act as a steward of AF-ST (technical, operational, and compliance principles), aligning all testing activities with Indra’s corporate framework.
- Respond & Adapt to evolving challenges, driving best-in-class testing methods through:
- Developing innovative testing approaches
- Ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory standards
- Representing Micro Nav during acceptance testing sessions
Key Roles as Lead & Mentor
- Mentor Junior Team Members – Develop expertise, instil cultural knowledge, and refine skills.
- Professional Advocacy – Influence quality, culture, and advancement within the testing department.
- Domain Specialist – Provide technical insight, capability reviews, and aptitude enhancement to deliver simulation solutions precisely.
- Stakeholder Liaison – Act as liaison for Micro Nav departments, customers, senior leadership, and integration partners.
Technical Requirements
Expertise & Knowledge
- Indra Micro Nav Ecosystem: Full command of the software/hardware portfolio, systems architecture, and testing methodologies.
- Software/ Windows: Proficient in testing complex Windows and web-based applications, with hands-on experience in third-party integrations via test harnesses.
- Testing Expertise: Hands-on in best-in-class testing techniques, including:
- Technical Discipline (TDD/BDD)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Functional, Non-functional, Performance, Security, and Regression Testing
- Integration & System Testing

Familiarity with Workflows & Tools
- Complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Comprehensive knowledge from design to decommissioning.
- Test Mgmt Tools: Proficient in Jira and Xray for requirements and defect tracking.
- Version Control: Advanced use of Git and other version control software.
- Windows OS: Deep familiarity with Windows family operating systems.
Qualification & Experience Criteria
Grooming & Education
- Degree Qualified in Computing Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (with high synergy).
Professional Development
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification required.
- Practiced in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JMeter).
Leadership & Communication
- Extensive experience in mentorship for junior/mid-level test engineers.
- Exceptional clear communication in written and spoken forms, to include:
- Technical depth with customers & management.
- Collaboration with Integration Partners.
