Senior Automation Test Engineer (Scala/Play Applications)
Automation Test Engineer
We are looking for a skilled Automation Test Engineer to join our team working on modern Scala/Play microservices and digital services. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing layers.
The role requires close collaboration with developers, product owners, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through continuous testing and quality engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test frameworks and reusable test assets.
- Develop and execute automated tests for web applications, APIs, and microservices.
- Create and maintain regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Validate business journeys across frontend and backend services.
- Collaborate with developers during sprint activities to ensure testability and quality.
- Participate in requirements analysis, test planning, and estimation.
- Identify, report, and track defects through resolution.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Support performance, accessibility, and security testing initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing standards and best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience
Test Automation
- Strong experience in test automation frameworks.
- Experience with one or more: Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress
- API Testing
- Strong experience testing REST APIs.
- Experience with: Karate, REST Assured, Postman, WireMock
Programming
- Experience in at least one of: Java, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python
CI/CD & DevOps – Good to Have
- Jenkins
