Senior Audio Visual Technician – 30 Euston Square

About the Role

Searcys, the oldest caterer in the UK, is seeking a dynamic senior Audio Visual Technician to join their award-winning Grade II listed events venue* at 30 Euston Square.

This premier location offers:

Job Description

Employment Type: Permanent | Contract Hours: 45 per week

Main Purpose: Provide flawless AV services to clients by ensuring the efficient upkeep of facilities and meticulous preparation of rooms to exact specifications.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Management

  • Deputise as required under the manager’s direction, including overseeing event setup, maintenance, and AV stock
  • Coordinate venue technicians) (including freelancers) to ensure seamless client delivery
  • Research and advise on equipment upgrades to elevate guest experience
  • Lead daily operations, including:
    • Upkeep and storage of AV assets
    • Minor repairs/replacements (e.g. cables, accessories)
    • Handling work-arounds during fixes to maintain continuity
    • Bi-annual equipment checks under manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure full coverage of all client-ready rooms, including self-serving spaces
  • Task manager for fre estacionaries—maintain first-class support for all events
  • Oversee hybrid offering (e.g. vMix & Crowdcomms platforms) with the AV Manager

People Development

  • Deliver on-job training for junior staff
  • Spot and nurture junior employees beyond current expectations
  • Contribute to the department succession plan
  • Ensure repeated performance reviews and adequate training for temp staff

Operational Compliance

  • Uphold lawful standards: Food Safety, Health & Safety, GDPR, etc.
  • Adhere to client/Searcys policies, including food safety, COVID, emergencies, and IT guidelines
  • Maintain department documentation and act as a Health & Safety Champion
  • Escalate issues via daily handover reports

Requirements

Experience in event hire/hospitality AV operations, expertise in equipment maintenance/logistics, and a passion for flawless execution are essential for this high-demand senior role.
