Searcys are recruiting a dynamic Senior Audio Visual (AV) Technician to join their team at the prestigious 30 Euston Square, a Grade II-listed events venue* in central London. With meeting and conference spaces, private dining, rooftop terraces, and boutique accommodation, the venue is perfect for high-end occasions.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering flawless AV support to clients while maintaining all equipment, systems, and event spaces in prime condition. As a seasoned Senior AV Technician, you will oversee operations, work closely with the venue team, and upkeep of the venue’s full AV equipment inventory. Your expertise will ensure seamless event execution and advanced technical support, contributing to guest satisfaction and venue excellence.
Key Responsibilities
AV Operations
- Assist the venue manager in maintaining AV facilities, stock, and equipment efficiently.
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage day-of operations with junior technicians, ensuring all event requirements are met.
- Prepare and set up rooms with precision, based on client specifications and AV needs.
- Understand venue capacity to advise on and manage third-party contractors (e.g. freelance AV technicians) to guarantee consistent support quality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tech trends and recommend innovations to enhance guest experiences.
- Organise equipment repairs or replacements, communicate delays, implement workaround solutions, and ensure repairs are cost-labeled effectively.
- Ensure all rooms are fully operational, verified, and client-ready on time.
- Conduct annual review checks of all AV assets (e.g., projectors) and minor maintenance/repairs (adapters, connectors, etc.).
- Monitor AV inventory (spares, cables, lenses, batteries) and manage stock levels as required.
- Manage venue’s hybrid offering—including setup for vMix and CrowdComms platforms, as agreed with the AV manager.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
