About the Role
Would you like to work for an impactful organisation in the automotive industry? If you’re passionate about Data and Development, especially hands-on Data Development experience, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re seeking a Senior Azure Developer to join our Enterprise Data Team, where you’ll design, develop, and maintain datasets, components, and tools supporting the business’s data requirements.
Your core focus will be on designing and maintaining data integration solutions, ensuring seamless analytical workflows for research and business intelligence.
What You’ll Do

Design & Build
- Architect robust, scalable data integration solutions aligned with technical standards.
- Develop and sustain application interfaces for data and analytical products.
- Deliver big data solutions using real-time and event-driven technologies.

Data Transformation & Engineering
- Create and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines for Thatcham’s data.
- Enforce data governance and information security best practices.

Azure & Cloud-Native Expertise
- Build and manage cloud-native integrations (Logic Apps, Function Apps).
- Implement automated data pipelines with reliability, scalability, and monitoring.

Collaboration & Maintenance
- Work alongside data architects, analysts, and testers to ensure high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and maintain production data pipelines.
- Compile technical documentation (design docs, DevOps boards, clean code).

Key Responsibilities
- Apply Git-based version control (branches, pull requests, code reviews).
- Apply real-time, periodic, and batch data latency methodologies.
- Design integrations using REST, SOAP, Service Bus.
- Gain experience with JSON & XML.
- Troubleshoot MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL scripts.
- Navigate NoSQL databases like Cosmo DB.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Know Skills
✅ Azure Platform Expertise (ADF, Synapse, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Azure Web Apps). ✅ Data Integration Proficiency (ETL tools, SQL, Python, APIs for ETL processes). ✅ Strong understanding of relational database design (MySQL, SQL Server). ✅ Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB). ✅ Experience with real-time, batch, and periodic data transformations. ✅ Familiarity with: REST, SOAP, Service Bus, JSON, XML.
Bonus Skills
🔹 Data integration focused on AI/ML advances. 🔹 DevOps automation (Infrastructure as Code). 🔹 Industry-specific insight into automotive/motor insurance tech.
