About The Role
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining microservices within a distributed deployment environment, emphasizing containerization with Docker and Kubernetes. You will work on complex core systems that handle millions of user interactions daily, moving beyond simple CRUD applications to build scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies, with a willingness to work with Spring Boot and other modern frameworks. Since the system was built from scratch three years ago, you will have the opportunity to influence its evolution using the latest technological practices. This role offers a chance to work in a collaborative environment, contributing to high-impact projects that shape the future of digital sports solutions.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 6+ years of experience in relevant software development roles, demonstrating a strong background in building scalable web backends and microservices architecture. Proficiency in Java 17 and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data is essential. Experience with designing highly transactional systems, object-oriented design, and analysis is required. Candidates should have advanced knowledge of non-functional qualities such as resiliency, maintainability, and performance optimization. Familiarity with modern testing techniques, behavior-driven development, and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable. Strong SQL skills, along with expertise in technologies such as MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and cloud platforms like AWS, are necessary. Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work independently are also key attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Developing highly scalable backend systems to support millions of users
- Collaborating with product owners and development teams to define new features
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality code through peer reviews
- Participating in all agile ceremonies such as planning, grooming, and retrospectives, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Responding promptly to support calls for applications in production to diagnose and resolve issues swiftly
- Mentoring less experienced team members, sharing your expertise to promote continuous learning and improvement
- Assuming on-call responsibilities to ensure system reliability and uptime (depending on team needs and your tenure)
- Working with cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the ongoing evolution of the company's backend infrastructure
- Supporting the company's mission to deliver innovative sports and fitness solutions
