Senior Backend Engineer | .NET / C#, SQL Server, Azure | Founder-Built B2B SaaS Platform Ready to Scale

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 (dependent on experience and on-site attendance) Location: North London - hybrid, (3-4 days onsite)

A bootstrapped, profitable SaaS platform serving B2B operators across manufacturing, distribution, and wholesale - built lean, grown on reputation alone, and now at the point where the engineering team needs to grow. The product sits at the operational core of its customers' businesses. When it goes down, they stop. It rarely does.

The founder is the sole developer, and you would be the second. Working directly alongside the person who built and knows the system end to end, on a product that competes with the likes of NetSuite and SAP at a fraction of the cost and without the third-party consultant overhead those platforms require.

The stack is .NET Core on the backend, SQL Server and PostgreSQL, React on the frontend, everything running on Kubernetes (AKS) in Azure across EU and US regions. A legacy MVC layer is being migrated out - comfort reading Razor is useful, but new work is all Core and API. CI/CD is in place and releases move fast.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why Join / Projects The codebase was built by one person and the near-term work is making it team-ready - organising it, adding features, laying the foundations for a growing team. The business ships fast and there is a full product roadmap to get through.

It is bootstrapped and profitable, the founder is open to good ideas, and whoever joins now will have real influence on how the engineering function takes shape, as well as have the opportunity to eventually grow their own team. The product is also more modern than the legacy layer suggests - an MCP integration is already live and the team builds with AI tooling.

Employee Benefits Share options - intended for the right person as the business formalises the scheme Thursday team lunches Parking on site Flexible, grown-up environment - small team, a lot of give
