Senior Backend Engineer
Backend Systems Architect
We are backing an expanding, tech-forward sports and media brand in both the UK and US. They need a seasoned developer to take full charge of the digital architecture and cloud setup driving their live events and fan apps.
About the Role
Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Fully Remote Competitive Compensation: £70,000 – £100,000
The Mission: Lead backend engineering, steer a multi-cloud strategy, and shape system architecture from scratch.
Core Focus
- Systems & Design: Build and maintain the core logic powering public apps and internal back-office tools.

What You Need
Technical Skills
- Languages & Databases:
- Expert-level Python (preferably FastAPI or similar).
- Deep SQL/Postgres knowledge.
- Strong Redis experience.

Cloud & Operations: Proven experience managing live AWS environments and writing deployment pipelines.

Scalability: Track record of shipping consumer software built to handle unpredictable, heavy user spikes.

API Craft: Ability to design immutable APIs with strict versioning control, contract management, and clear documentation.
Plus Points
- Experience with Terraform.**
