The Role: Staff/Senior Backend Engineer
We’re hiring an engineering leader to drive high-impact technical solutions and shape our backend architecture and systems. It’s the chance to architect backend components of our scalable, event-driven platform.
Our Stack
Centred around Go microservices, with:
- Orchestration: Temporal workflows
- Database: MongoDB, ElasticSearch
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes (GCP)
- Integrations: Event-driven, gRPC, REST APIs
- Observability: Grafana + Prometheus
What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve critical backend systems, building and refining high-scalability features.
- Define architecture (As-a-Service patterns, real-time integrations, LLM-degree insights).
- Drive systemic improvements, mentoring engineers and fostering cultural growth in technical excellence.
- Collaborate with leadership to align strategy, scalability, and innovative tech stack choices.
- Work with domains such as:
- Investigations Pipeline (web scraping, provider integrations, LLM, data analysis).
- Core App Systems (user workflows, config-driven features).
Key Responsibilities
✔ Tech Leadership: Own architecture, set patterns, mentor peers. ✔ Impactful Delivery: Build and scale complex systems (gRPC, event streaming, observability). ✔ Change Agent: Optimise processes,关键标准 raise efficiency, and influence future tech direction. ✔ Stakeholder Swarm: Bridge Ops, PMs, and Product with keywords: mentorship, pragmatic execution, and vision.
What You Bring
Essential
- 10+ years in production-grade software engineering (Backend focus).
- Go expertise (concurrency, performance tuning, world-class advanced design).
- Architectural ruggedness: Owned complex distributed systems.
- Distributed systems deep dive (event-driven, battle-tested reliability).
- MongoDB (or similar) mastery + core algorithms.
- Microservices experience (gRPC, REST, cross-service collaboration).
- Kubernetes & Docker at scale (GCP environment).
- Proven track record setting tech standards, mentoring teams.
- Confidence in execution: Drive initiatives without constant supervision.

Highly Desirable
- Temporal familiarity (or prior workflow orchestration).
- AI-first skills: LLM integration, RAG systems (collaborate with investigations).
- Kafka/Event Streaming expertise.
- gRPC/protobuf, permission/action auth patterns, multi-tenancy challenges.
