Senior Backend Engineer
£100,000 - £140,000 + equity
Office based in London
We've partnered with a profitable, fast-growing (10x last year) AI company building LLM-powered tools that are already used by some of the world's largest private equity and consulting firms. The team is 40+ across London & New York and this is a key backend hire for the London office.
You'll own backend systems end-to-end: architecting and scaling infrastructure for high-throughput LLM interactions, vector search and multi-agent orchestration, building retrieval pipelines, caching layers and async task queues, and stitching together model providers, data stores and internal APIs into clean, performant systems. There's real scope to shape engineering culture and infrastructure decisions early.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
