Senior Backend Go Developer
We're looking for a Senior Go Developer to lead the design and development of our services.
You'll build and maintain systems that serve millions of users in real-time.
This is a London-based position.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems and services.
- Lead system design discussions and document architectural decisions, trade-offs, and technical risks.
- Design service boundaries, APIs, data models, asynchronous workflows, and integration patterns.
- Improve system observability, fault tolerance, resilience, and operational readiness.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction and engineering best practices.
- Design and develop reusable libraries.
- Uphold code quality and ensure automation.
- Engage in unit testing and integration testing.

Required Qualifications

- Strong system design skills, including the ability to design scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs involving scalability, consistency, availability, latency, cost, and operational complexity.
- Demonstrated senior-level experience building production-grade Go services, including system design, distributed systems, performance optimisation, and operational ownership.
- Strong command of PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Proven experience with distributed systems, async workflows and Domain-Driven Design.
- Proficiency with Docker, observability stacks, and RESTful APIs.
- In-depth understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
- Prior experience with Microservices architecture.
- Experience in cloud systems [GCP, AWS or Azure].
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks [React] is a plus.
