Senior Banker – Financial Sponsors Group (Executive Director)
Overvie wThe Senior Banker will cover sponsor clients across private equity, infrastructure, real estate, credit, and secondaries strategies, with a strong focus on leading global multi-strategy asset managers .The role will focus on sponsor activity across the UK, Nordics, Benelux, and DACH regions, working closely with colleagues across EMEA, North America, and APAC
.
Key Responsibilit iesDevelop and manage relationships with financial sponsor clients and originate transactions across a broad range of Investment Banking and Global Markets products, with a particular focus on infrastructure finance, fund finance, leveraged finance, real estate finance, hedging solutions, and related produc ts.Grow existing relationships and establish new client connections across investment, capital markets, fund finance, and senior management teams, creating strong senior-level engagement and institutionalising relationshi ps.Drive origination efforts by developing relevant market content, product solutions, and investment opportunities in partnership with internal product and sector specialists, as well as external advisory partners where appropria te.Engage clients proactively on transaction opportunities well in advance of formal processes by delivering insightful market intelligence and strategic content, positioning the platform for high-quality mandates and commercial outcom es.Lead client engagement efforts by coordinating expertise across product, sector, and advisory teams, supporting pipeline development, and consolidating market intelligence on anticipated transactio ns.Maintain a strong origination mindset by providing market insights, helping position the business on transactions, and supporting the negotiation of favourable commercial outcom es.Take a solution-oriented approach to business development, both externally with clients and internally across stakeholder grou ps.Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, demonstrating a strong understanding of both client organisations and internal capabilities to effectively navigate and connect stakeholde rs.Demonstrate a solid understanding of sponsor behaviour throughout the investment lifecycle, from acquisition and financing through to portfolio management and eventual exit even ts.Mentor and support the development of junior team membe

Candidate Require mentsExper ience12–18 years of Investment Banking experi ence.Typically operating at Director level, or recently promoted Managing Director (less than 3 years at MD le vel).Must be hands-on, entrepreneurial, resilient, and motivated to build business directly rather than primarily managing ot hers.Backg roundStrong track record in client coverage and relationship management, with demonstrated origination suc cess.Experience in sponsor coverage, leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, infrastructure sector coverage, or corporate business development/strategy roles combined with prior Investment Banking experi ence.Experience working with and covering global multi-strategy financial spon sors.Proven ability to originate business, develop client relationships, and generate revenue gr owth.Technical Know ledgeBroad understanding of Investment Banking products, particularly financing solut ions.Experience negotiating commercial terms across financing transact ions.Product expertise is not essential, but candidates should be commercially minded and capable of identifying and delivering cross-product opportuni ties.Preferred Backgr oundsSponsor Cov erageLeveraged Fi nanceInfrastructure Finance (rather than pure project finance backgro unds)Infrastructure Cov erageCorporate Strategy or Business Development professionals with previous Investment Banking exper
