About The Role

About the role

Senior Bid Managers at SUEZ play a crucial role in driving our growth and retention strategy. You will lead the development of winning proposals for complex, long-term waste processing tenders, often valued at over £10 million per annum, and sometimes exceeding £30 million per annum.

As a successful candidate, you will join a collaborative team with a strong track record of success. Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Processing Development, you will lead the preparation of complex waste processing tenders through from pre-qualification to contractual and financial close. These tenders may include design, build, and finance elements, and often involve energy generation facilities.

  • You will develop competitive yet deliverable technical and commercial solutions grounded in contractual partnership principles, balancing customer needs with SUEZ’s strategic objectives.
  • You will manage multi-disciplined bid teams, sometimes including external resources, ensuring all activities align with the bid strategy.
  • You will build and nurture relationships with new and existing public sector customers within our development pipeline.
  • Ownership of the bid’s risk register will be your responsibility. Together with the wider bid team, you will accurately and transparently identify risks and propose appropriate mitigations.
  • Acting as the primary representative of the bid, you will engage with prospective clients and internal stakeholders.

What are the requirements?

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing complex, long-term bids in waste management or a closely related sector.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams through complex bidding processes.
  • Experience with energy projects or waste-to-energy projects is advantageous, and experience with tenders involving infrastructure construction is an asset.
  • A solid understanding of UK waste legislation and market drivers is desirable but not essential.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
