Job Title: Senior Bids & Proposals Executive
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working)

About the Role:
We’re recruiting for a Senior Bids & Proposals Executive to join a leading law firm, playing a key role in securing new business through the delivery of high-quality bids, tenders, frameworks, and panel submissions.
This is a strategic and hands-on position, responsible for managing complex bid opportunities from pre-bid stage through to submission. You'll work closely with Business Development, Partners, Finance, and wider stakeholders to develop winning strategies, create compelling content, and ensure submissions are tailored to client needs.
The role would suit an experienced bid professional who enjoys stakeholder engagement, shaping win themes, developing persuasive proposals, and driving continuous improvement across the bid process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Bid Leadership
- Lead major bids, frameworks, and panel submissions from opportunity identification through to submission
- Develop and embed compelling win themes throughout tender responses
- Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking to strengthen bid strategy
- Support bid qualification activities, evaluating opportunities based on strategic fit, profitability, resources, and client requirements
- Facilitate bid kick-off meetings and stakeholder workshops
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously while ensuring quality and compliance

Content Development & Proposal Management
- Produce high-quality first drafts of tender responses, social value submissions, and supporting documentation
- Create tailored, client-focused content that clearly demonstrates value and differentiation
- Manage and develop reusable content libraries and value-add propositions
- Support executive summary creation and ensure proposals remain focused on client outcomes

Business Development & Market Intelligence
- Monitor procurement portals, frameworks, and industry networks to identify future opportunities
- Gather market intelligence and competitor insight to inform bid strategy
- Work closely with Business Development teams to maximise pipeline opportunities

Commercial & Financial Support
- Collaborate with Finance teams on pricing strategies and fee proposals
- Support commercial risk assessments for major tenders
- Identify contractual risks and escalate appropriately where required

Process Improvement & Team Support
- Mentor junior bid team members and share best practice
- Conduct bid debriefs and lessons learned reviews following outcomes
- Support implementation and adoption of bid management technology and systems
- Drive continuous improvement across bid processes and reporting
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 4 years' experience within bids, proposals, tenders, or business development support
- Experience managing complex bids from initial opportunity through to submission
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
- Experience developing win themes, value propositions, and tailored tender responses
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Commercially aware with an understanding of pricing and risk considerations
- Experience within professional services, legal, consultancy, or similar sectors (desirable)
- APMP qualification or equivalent bid management experience (desirable)
