TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a friendly, informal, and growing accountancy practice based in Lewes, East Sussex, with the recruitment of an experienced Senior Bookkeeper.

Our client works with a diverse portfolio of small and medium sized businesses, with a particular focus on clients within the Arts and Media, Professional Services, and Charity sectors. As the practice continues to grow, they are looking to appoint a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team and provide high-quality bookkeeping services to a varied client portfolio.

The Role Working closely with clients and the wider practice team, you will be responsible for managing bookkeeping activities across a range of sole traders and limited companies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional seeking a long-term role within a supportive and expanding practice.

Key Responsibilities General bookkeeping for a portfolio of Sole Traders and Limited Companies Preparation and submission of VAT returns Posting and managing prepayments and accruals Preparation of management accounts Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations Liaising directly with clients and providing an excellent level of service Working with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero and QuickBooks

Requirements Essential Requirements: Recent bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice environment Strong bookkeeping knowledge and technical ability Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts Confident posting prepayments and accruals Experience using cloud accounting software, ideally Xero and QuickBooks Desirable: At least 1 year of accountancy practice experience Personal Attributes Client focused with excellent communication skills High level of attention to detail Strong IT skills Well organised and able to manage multiple deadlines Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently
