About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join The Part-Time Finance People on a self-employed basis, supporting one of our growing manufacturing clients in Leeds on a part-time basis (2 days per week, onsite).
Working alongside the Financial Controller and leadership team, you'll play a key role in keeping the finance function running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping, maintain accurate financial records, and help support informed business decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day finance activities, including:
- Managing the sales and purchase ledgers.
- Customer invoicing, credit control, and debtor management.
- Processing supplier invoices and payment runs.
- Bank and supplier reconciliations.
- Processing expenses and company card reconciliations.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Supporting payroll and pension administration.
- Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Maintaining accurate financial records.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end reporting.

About You
You'll be an experienced Senior Bookkeeper with a strong background in SME businesses and excellent attention to detail.
You'll be confident working independently, managing day-to-day bookkeeping, and building positive relationships across the business.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a Senior Bookkeeper or similar role.
- Strong bookkeeping and transactional finance experience.
- Sales ledger, purchase ledger, and reconciliation expertise.
- Experience preparing VAT returns.
- Knowledge of Xero, Sage 50, or QuickBooks.
- Good Excel skills.
- Excellent organization, accuracy, and communication skills.

The Opportunity
- £22.50 per hour

Eligibility
To apply, you'll need:
- At least 2 years' UK-based experience in a Senior Bookkeeper or similar role.
- The right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
