Senior Bookkeeper Leeds | £22.50 per Hour | 2 Days Per Week | Onsite About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a well-established and growing business based in Leeds on a part-time basis (2 days per week). Working closely alongside the Financial Controller and wider management team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. This is a hands-on position suited to an organised and proactive finance professional who enjoys supporting a busy SME environment. The role will focus on transactional finance, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and maintaining robust financial records to support business operations and reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities As Senior Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include: Customer invoicing and sales ledger management Credit control and debtor management Supplier invoice processing and purchase ledger management Preparing payment runs for approval Supplier statement reconciliations Bank postings and reconciliations Expense processing and company card reconciliations VAT returns Supporting payroll and pension administration processes Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial data Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation Assisting the Financial Controller with month-end reporting activities About You You are an experienced Senior Bookkeeper with a strong background in SME businesses. You take pride in producing accurate financial records, have excellent attention to detail, and enjoy being part of a collaborative team. You are comfortable managing day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities independently while working closely with senior finance colleagues to support the wider business. Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have experience in: Sales ledger and customer invoicing Credit control and debtor management Purchase ledger processing Supplier and bank reconciliations VAT returns Payroll support and pension administration Month-end accounting procedures Accounting software such as Xero, Sage 50, or QuickBooks Microsoft Excel and general finance systems Working within a fast-paced SME environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and relationship-building skills The Part-Time Finance People are passionate about helping business owners have more successful businesses and feel happier.
