Senior BPA Transition Manager

Salary & Benefits
Up to £90,000 (depending on experience) plus:

The Role
We’re hiring a Senior BPA Transition Manager for our Annuity Client Services Team. Your core focus will be ensuring the safe onboarding of new BPA transactions while managing existing business efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
You will act as the primary point of contact for BPA Trustee clients and their advisors, driving implementation projects and managing transition journeys from initial setup to buy-out.
- Plan & manage a seamless client-focused transition journey, supporting BPA Trustees and outsourced partners throughout onboarding and the path to buy-out.
- Manage complex schemes, including delivering presentations to Trustees and participating in client meetings to clarify the proposition.
- Provide real-time internal & external support to Trustees, administrators, and other third-party stakeholders.
- Deeply understand scheme data/benefits, becoming the go-to contact for all external communications.
- Own project plans, ensuring each scheme transitions efficiently & on schedule to buy-out.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts to validate data cleansing against project timelines.
- Identify issues early, coordinating with external administrators and outsourced providers to mitigate delays.
- Build & maintain strong stakeholder relationships (internal, external scheme administrators, Trustees).
- Generate detailed reporting for effective oversight and client engagement.
- Assist in preparing contracrual & policy documents at the point of buy-out.
- Ensure contractual compliance, meets deadlines, and maintains high standards.
- Support team development of Transition Managers, maintaining awareness of Standard Life’s proposition.

Requirements & Qualification
- Strong technical knowledge of Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPAs) and Defined Benefit pensions, including hands-on experience guiding schemes through transition-to-buyout.
- Proven BPA transition expertise, including:
- New business pitches
- Interpreting pension data & documentation
- Active role in transition tasks
- Ability to analyze risks/issues across the transition timelines and propose actionable, data-driven solutions.
- Track record of performing stakeholder presentations, translating complex data into clear, digestible reports for decision-makers.
- Experience in project/change environments, coordinating internal/external partners, and working within outsourced administration.
- Skills in stakeholder engagement, cultivating relationships with clients, trustees, and third parties; proactive learning mindset.
