Senior Building Control Technician - Internal Applicants Only
About the Role

You’ll deliver high-quality, efficient, and responsive administrative and technical support to the Building Control team, ensuring the needs of internal and external customers are met.
The role supports the Council’s statutory duties under the Building Regulations 2010, Building Act 1984, and associated legislation, while contributing to a professional, customer-focused Local Authority Building Control (LABC) service that seeks to grow market share and maximise income.
What Will You Be Doing?
You will:

Provide accurate and timely technical and administrative support, including:
- Data processing
- Application validation
- Certificate preparation
- Customer liaison

Coordinate incoming inquiries, notifications, and fee quotation requests in line with service targets.

Contribute to service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Undertake special projects and research as required.

Experience in a construction-related administrative role or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.

Experience working in a busy office environment as first point of contact.

Strong skills in:
- Written and verbal communication
- IT proficiency, including:
- Microsoft Office
- MS Teams
- Microsoft 365

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction-related documentation.

High attention to detail, with an analytical and methodical approach.

Willingness to travel across the county, including on short notice.
