Senior Building Surveyor
Location: Sidcup, Kent or London (Hybrid Working)
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join its growing Building Surveying team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor who enjoys leading projects, building strong client relationships and delivering high-quality surveying services across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects. You'll play a key role in project delivery while supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering a wide range of professional Building Surveying services, including:
- Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and construction projects.
- Preparing specifications, schedules of work and technical drawings.
- Undertaking Condition Surveys, Dilapidation Surveys, DDA Surveys and defect investigations.
- Producing technical reports and advising clients on building defects and building pathology.
- Undertaking Party Wall matters and other specialist surveying commissions.
- Managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Managing client workloads and framework agreements.
- Monitoring project performance, budgets and profitability.
- Identifying opportunities for new business and supporting business development activities.
- Representing the business at client meetings and networking events.
- Mentoring and supporting junior surveyors within the team.

About You
We're looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and client management skills.
- MRICS, MCIOB or an equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum of five years' Building Surveying experience within a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of Contract Administration and professional Building Surveying services.
- Experience undertaking condition surveys, dilapidations, DDA surveys, defect diagnosis and building pathology investigations.
- Experience with Party Wall matters would be advantageous.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage project finances and client expectations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report writing skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to mentor junior team members.
- A commitment to continuing professional development in line with RICS requirements.
