Senior Building Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Kier Design team based in Nottingham.
Location: Nottingham - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required. Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. Salary: Starting from £45,000 per annum Sector: Design – Architecture

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll deliver high-quality building surveying services to clients across public and private sectors. Working collaboratively within our team, you'll manage projects from initial survey through to successful completion, whilst ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and industry best practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, build strong client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues in a supportive and inclusive environment.

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier Design team, supporting them in delivering exceptional building surveying services. Your day to day will include:
Undertaking condition surveys and producing clear, professional reports on building defects, maintenance needs, and development potential Advising clients on compliance matters including HSE, planning, building regulations, and statutory requirements Designing and specifying maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and alteration works with practical recommendations Administering contracts using JCT or NEC forms and managing projects to ensure high-quality delivery and client satisfaction Contributing to business development through building client relationships, identifying opportunities, and supporting tender submissions

This role of Senior Building Surveyor is great for you if:
You're a chartered building surveyor with MRICS or MCIOB membership You have a degree in building surveying or related field (or HNC/HND as a minimum) You're experienced in delivering projects successfully across public and private sectors You're confident in providing technical advice, preparing feasibility studies, and managing contracts You're passionate about working collaboratively in a trusted, supportive organisation that values professional development
