Role Overview
MAC Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our Leeds office. This is a senior, client-facing role delivering high-quality building consultancy services across a diverse range of projects. You will provide technical leadership, manage client relationships, and support the development of junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional building surveying services including condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting
- Lead refurbishment, maintenance and remedial works projects from inception to completion
- Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer’s Agent under JCT contracts
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
- Provide strategic advice on asset condition, compliance and lifecycle planning
- Manage client relationships and provide clear reporting and advice
- Mentor and support junior surveyors, graduates and APC candidates
Qualifications
- Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
- MRICS (or actively working towards with relevant experience)
- Strong knowledge of UK construction methods and building pathology
- Proven consultancy experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills

Role Challenges & Aim
You’ll be expected to work independently with minimal assistance, lead client projects, and either hold or be working towards APC qualification. Communication and organisational skills are crucial, as is a drive to build expertise in contract administration from inception to completion.
