Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Bureau Messaging Integration Architect in our IT team.
This role will play a key part in shaping secure, scalable, and resilient integration architecture across underwriting, claims, bordereaux, finance, and operational data flows. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology teams to support market-facing change and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

What you’ll be doing:
- Define and maintain target architecture for bureau messaging and external market integrations.
- Design end-to-end integration solutions across underwriting, claims, finance, delegated authority, and reporting processes.
- Establish and govern integration standards, patterns, and design principles.
- Provide architectural oversight and design assurance across projects and programmes.
- Support connectivity with London Market and Lloyd’s platforms, bureaus, brokers, cover holders, and service providers.
- Ensure effective message routing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Embed security, resilience, operational support, and audit requirements into integration designs.
- Collaborate with business, delivery, data, security, and vendor teams to translate requirements into practical architecture solutions.
- Identify opportunities to simplify the integration landscape, improve reuse, and reduce technical debt.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years’ experience in integration architecture or solution architecture.
- 8+ years’ experience within the London Market, Lloyd’s, or specialty insurance sector.
- Experience designing integrations between core insurance systems and external market participants or bureau platforms.
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns, including message-based, API-led, event-driven, batch, and file-based integration.
- Understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of security, resilience, and governance requirements for external system integrations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ACORD and London Market messaging or bordereaux standards.
- Experience with delegated authority or Lloyd’s ecosystem platforms.
- Experience with tools such as Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM MQ, Kafka, REST/SOAP, XML, JSON, and managed file transfer solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud and hybrid integration architecture.
- TOGAF or similar architecture framework knowledge.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant architecture, cloud, or integration certifications desirable.
