Senior Business Analyst - The AA, Newcastle

Company Description / Business Unit

The AA is the nation’s leading motoring organisation, offering a wide range of products and services—from roadside assistance and motor insurance to cutting-edge driving technologies. Part of the Chief Operating Office (COO), this dynamic team provides stability and drives growth through innovation.

With over a century of evolution, we continue to expand, diversify, and modernise. Joining us as a Senior Business Analyst means playing a critical role in shaping technology change and supporting projects across Insurance, Road Operations, Sales, Finance, B2B and wider Group functions.

Hybrid working model: 3 office days per week in Newcastle.

The Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll bridge the gap between business stakeholders, technology teams, and project delivery—delivering clarity, structure, and real impact in complex tech environments.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, translates business needs into actionable technical requirements, and supports projects via Agile and Waterfall methodologies. You’ll also mentor junior analysts, driving continuous improvement in best practices.

Key work areas:

  • Legacy systems
  • Digital platforms
  • Regulatory and supplier-led change
  • Insurance and financial services

About the Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Requirements Capture & Analysis
    • Capture, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements for technology projects and business-as-usual (BAU) initiatives.
    • Address current and future state processes, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
