About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team in London, focusing on the Repo and Security Lending pre-trade operations within our financial services division. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering enhancements to our client's trading platforms, ensuring seamless integration of business requirements with technical solutions. The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across the front office, technology, and operations teams to facilitate the development and implementation of innovative pre-trade systems that support efficient and compliant trading activities.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on a Greenfield project, contributing to the design and deployment of cutting-edge pre-trade systems that influence the entire trading lifecycle. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technological capabilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet strategic objectives. The role requires a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the financial markets, particularly the Repo and Security Lending sectors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in business analysis within a trading environment, with specific expertise in Repo and Security Lending markets. A degree in a STEM discipline, with a 2.1 or above, is required. You should have extensive experience working with front office users such as traders and quants, translating their requirements into technical specifications for development teams. Your technical proficiency should include a comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Prior experience in implementing trading systems, especially in pre-trade environments, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, including traders, quants, and operations teams, to inform system enhancements.
  • Design and document functional specifications for new features and improvements within the Repo & Security Lending platform.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams during the development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet business needs and technical standards.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to facilitate continuous delivery.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and support the deployment of new system functionalities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within pre-trade workflows.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment and satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory requirements affecting Repo and Security Lending activities.
