Senior Business Analyst

A renowned electronic trading firm is expanding its UK and European product management function and is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join its global engagement team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, product, and client delivery—partnering with internal stakeholders across development, operations, sales, QA, and senior leadership, while engaging directly with a prestigious, global client base.

The Senior Business Analyst will form a team working on a major new programme of work starting in 2026, will see the successful Senior Business Analyst, working on major market data projects across the European markets.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a bridge between business and technology across a suite of trading platforms and products.
  • Gather and analyse client business requirements, translating them into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Manage project scope, identify risks, and propose contingency plans.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within the product management lifecycle.
  • Lead and mentor a team, be a key contributor to hiring and the expansion of the team.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Produce high-quality documentation of business requirements and analysis.

Qualifications

A degree in a STEM-related discipline (essential).

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst within financial services.
  • Experience working with senior internal and external stakeholders with experience working with institutional businesses.
  • The Business Analyst must have delivered electronic trading technology-based projects; you will be working closely with Software Engineering teams internally and externally to deliver software solutions.
  • Experience of Java, C++ or Python based technology stacks.
  • Experience within Equities or Fixed Income technology trading environments.
  • Proven track record in Agile environments (Scrum and/or Kanban).
  • Solid understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and Capital Markets.
