Senior Business Analyst – Insurance Technology Transformation Location: London (Hybrid) | Permanent | £88,000–£98,000
About the Role
Are you ready for your next challenge? We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our growing technology and transformation function, driving large-scale change initiatives in the insurance sector.
This role offers the chance to operate at the intersection of business and technology, translating complex requirements into strategic solutions while shaping critical outcomes. The working environment is collaborative, delivery-focused, and stakeholder-driven, involving close collaboration across UK and US teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements definition for complex technology projects and strategic initiatives.
- Translate business needs into high-quality documentation, including:
- Business and functional requirements
- User stories
- Process maps
- Data flows
- Traceability matrices
- Report mock-ups
- Use cases
- Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and stakeholder presentations.
- Challenge requirements and identify opportunities for process improvements and better business outcomes.
- Collaborate with architects, solution designers, and delivery teams to align solutions with system integrations, APIs, and data movement.
- Support end-to-end project delivery across Agile and traditional (waterfall) SDLCs.
- Engage with development and testing teams to ensure requirements are implemented effectively.
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)—planning, test scripting, execution, and sign-off.
- Build strong relationships across global business and technology teams.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior Business Analysts.

Requirements
Essential Experience
- 7+ years as an IT Business Analyst in the insurance industry.
- Deep expertise in:
- Underwriting processes
- Submission–Quote–Bind lifecycle
- Pricing concepts
- Policy administration
- Experience with policy administration platforms
- Strong ability to deliver technology-enabled change in enterprise IT environments.
- Experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience in writing business requirements and user stories.
- Expertise in both Agile and traditional (waterfall) delivery methodologies.
- Comfortable collaborating with:
- Architects
- Solution designers
- Technical delivery teams
- Business leadership
Technical & Delivery Capability
- Understanding of:
- Solution architecture
- Systems integration
- APIs & enterprise applications
- End-to-end delivery lifecycles (Agile + waterfall)
- Ability to discuss technical dependencies and cross-platform impacts without an intensive developer background.
- Experience leading application and platform transformation projects (not just infrastructure).
