Senior Business Analyst – ETRM Transformation Programme
Location: London (Hybrid)
Contract: 6–12 Months (Potential Extension)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a major business-led transformation programme within the energy trading sector. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale ETRM transformation, driving process optimisation, data improvements, and technology enablement across complex trading and supply operations.
Working within a high-profile programme, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, delivery teams, and technology partners to deliver sustainable business value through process transformation and the implementation of a scalable trading platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture, analyse, and document business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into clear and actionable solution specifications.
- Assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and potential business impacts of proposed solutions.
- Analyse and model business processes, data flows, and technology landscapes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and present compelling business cases to support solution approval, funding, and prioritisation.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive requirements documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements from business need through testing and final implementation.
- Work closely with software vendors, architects, developers, and designers to ensure business requirements are effectively delivered.
- Support system and database design activities, identifying constraints and opportunities.
- Configure and document software solutions and business processes using agreed standards and tools.
- Define acceptance criteria and coordinate testing activities to validate business outcomes.
- Lead stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, and large-scale design sessions.
- Manage business analysis activities across multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery against agreed cost, time, and quality objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to Business Analysis teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience:
- 7–10 years' experience in Business Analysis within complex IT environments.
- Demonstrable experience leading Business Analysis activities and mentoring teams.
- Strong experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks, tools, and ways of working.
- Experience educating and influencing Product Owners, business stakeholders, and delivery teams on Agile practices.
- Proven ability to work across business and technology teams within large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong business process modelling, stakeholder management, and requirements management expertise.
- Experience creating business cases, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience within Energy Trading, Commodities Trading, ETRM, or Trading & Supply environments.
- Exposure to Endur/Openlink implementations or ETRM transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle processes, middle office, back office, risk, settlements, and trading operations.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) and/or PMI-PBA certification.
- Lean Practitioner certification or experience.
- Agile certifications and relevant Agile training.
