Senior Business Analyst - Front Office | Precious Metals Trading | Up to £115,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Business Analyst, specialising in Precious Metals / Metals and specifically working on Regulatory Reporting projects, is needed for a commodities & energy trading firm, focused on regulatory reporting for a new desk within the energy trading sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with precious metals, or metals more generally, and be familiar with energy trading from a derivatives or physical basis. With their continued growth in the metals trading space and implementation of a new ETRM system, they are looking to scale up the company.
As a Precious Metals Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with front-office traders to support and optimise trade flows across the precious metals desk, with additional exposure to base metals and power & gas markets. You’ll help map and improve end-to-end trading workflows and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient, scalable desk operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
