Senior Business Analyst
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will join the Technology department in London. It's an exciting opportunity to join Insight Investment as we continue to grow our technology footprint in London, Manchester, and Pune. Our continued growth will enable us to keep up with the demand for innovative technical solutions to meet the needs of our growing business.
To succeed in this role you must be able to: face off to business teams, apply an organised, proactive approach to your work, ensure you add value to the team, and constantly develop your business knowledge and awareness.
This role is based within the technology product team aligned to the Systematic Fixed Income business area working out of San Francisco, USA. Given the global spread of the combined technology and business teams, occasional flexibility around working hours will be expected to provide appropriate overlap with both UK and US working days.
Systematic Fixed Income

Role Responsibilities:
- Work with the product owner and the business to develop and detail the product backlog in the form of Epics, Features, and Stories.
- Help the business owners and teams to prioritise work.
- Act as the communication channel between product owners, business owners, and the Agile delivery team you work within.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of system and acceptance testing.
- Undertake JIT analysis and documentation to support the team's sprint activities.
- Be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle across different business areas within Insight.
- Build and maintain a good working relationship with the business representatives, working across teams and multiple sites.

Experience Required:
- Skill in collecting and interpreting data, analysing results to identify patterns and trends in structured and unstructured data sets. Ability to use SQL in this investigation and independently investigate unfamiliar databases.
- Ability to apply suitable analytical approaches to requirements discovery, documentation, and solution delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management experience with the ability to effectively communicate at a level and depth appropriate to the audience.
- Demonstrable experience of gathering requests and technical specifications.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban.
- Ability to review and advise on suitable changes to streamline processes, while identifying actual rather than perceived pain points.
- Participates in definition of cross-team initiatives for new processes / frameworks / architectures. Committed to and will take ownership for driving towards change initiative or solution. Will bring relevant teams together and leverage key stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Leads team retrospectives.
- A thirst for knowledge and curiosity to help solve complex problems with a keen eye for detail.
- A sense of personal responsibility and the drive to own problems, can work self-directed and independently to accomplish results.
- Provides assistance to other members of the team. Pro-actively removing blockers to maximise team productivity.
- Creates an environment where individuals are encouraged and supported to achieve their goals.
- Promotes a positive team culture. Identifies and implements ways to improve teamwork. Builds effective relationships throughout the organisation.
