About The Role

Leonardo is seeking a proactive and strategically focused Senior Business Analyst to join the Performance Team within the Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This senior position offers an exciting opportunity to influence high-level decision-making through the development and delivery of comprehensive performance insights. The successful candidate will work closely with the Performance Lead, Programme Managers, and senior stakeholders to design and implement advanced analytics, optimize data flows, and generate insightful reports using tools such as PowerBI, JIRA, and SAP.

The primary objective of this role is to enhance portfolio performance reporting, enabling data-driven decisions that improve operational efficiency and strategic alignment. As a senior member of the team, you will lead initiatives to simplify complex data sets, ensuring that insights are actionable and aligned with organizational goals. Additionally, you will mentor junior analysts, foster best practices in data management, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the analytics function.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in business or data analysis, particularly within complex programs or portfolio environments. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex insights clearly is essential. Candidates should demonstrate advanced Excel skills, including nested formulas, alongside strong experience in PowerBI development. A solid understanding of large, complex datasets and multiple data sources such as SAP, P6 Primavera, and Business Objects is required. The role also demands excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, and familiarity with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence. A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable mindset is crucial for success in this dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of strategic performance dashboards and reporting tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to source, reconcile, and validate data from various systems, resolving data quality issues and ensuring consistency across datasets.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership, program managers, and IPT teams to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data management processes by identifying automation opportunities and streamlining workflows to enhance efficiency.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions, requirements gathering workshops, and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet evolving business needs.
  • Champion data governance best practices across the FCAS program, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent the Performance Team in strategic planning forums, contributing to the future direction of portfolio analytics and performance reporting initiatives.
