A leading Commodities Trading firm is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep Metals experience (base metals, precious metals, or bulk commodities) to drive critical technology and business transformation initiatives across Front Office Trading and Operations.
This is a high-impact role working at the intersection of Trading, Risk, Operations, and Technology, with strong exposure across the end-to-end metals trade lifecycle.
The Role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:
- Lead requirements gathering and detailed process analysis across both Front Office and Operations workflows, working closely with Metals Traders to understand:
- Pricing
- Hedging strategies
- Day-to-day trading activities
- Partner with Operations teams to gain a deep understanding of:
- Trade processing
- Settlements
- Physical logistics flows
- Ensure end-to-end coverage of the trade lifecycle
- Translate complex business requirements into:
- Clear functional specifications
- User stories
- Process maps
- Drive alignment between:
- Business stakeholders
- Technology teams
- Play an active role in:
- UAT
- Implementation
- Post-go-live optimisation
- Ensure solutions deliver tangible business value
- Proactively identify:
- Process inefficiencies
- Data gaps
- Control weaknesses
- Recommend improvements to enhance:
- Operational efficiency
- Data integrity
- Risk management

You will be heavily involved in initiatives such as:
- Enhancing metals trading platforms (LME, OTC derivatives, physical trading)
- Improving real-time risk, P&L, and exposure reporting
- Supporting:
- Trade capture
- Logistics
- Settlement processes
- Optimising post-trade operations:
- Confirmations
- Invoicing
- Inventory
- Shipping
- Strengthening:
- Data architecture
- Controls
- Regulatory reporting
- Supporting expansion into new metals products and markets
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst within Metals Trading (ESSENTIAL)
- Strong Front-to-Back understanding of the metals trade lifecycle, including:
- Trade capture (physical & derivatives)
- Risk management (market, credit, exposure)
- Logistics & inventory management
- Settlements & invoicing
- Direct experience working with:
- Front Office (Traders)
- Operations teams (REQUIRED)
- Experience in fast-paced, regulated trading environments
- Familiarity with:
- LME markets
- OTC derivatives
- Physical metals flows (highly desirable)
- Exposure to Agile / hybrid delivery methodologies

Additional Details
- Salary: Up to £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits
- Location: City of London (Liverpool Street / Bank / St Paul’s)
- Working: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
