Role Overview
Join HMRC as a Business Analyst and play a pivotal role in supporting our digital transformation helping to shape, and validate the business needs. You will ensure that requirements are clear, agreed, and aligned across complex stakeholder groups, supporting the programme to deliver a coherent, scalable and customer‑centred digital solution.
This role combines technical awareness with stakeholder management, requiring strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences across the organisation.

Essential
- Strong BA fundamentals: elicitation, documentation, prioritisation; writing user stories/acceptance criteria, process maps and clear action logs.
- Confident engaging delivery teams and SMEs; able to run/ support workshops and capture outcomes.
- Able to capture and manage non-functional requirements (e.g. logging, monitoring, access control) in a clear, testable way.
- Highly organised: supports dependencies, actions, RAID/MART, and keeps work moving.
- Able to start quickly and learn context fast.

Desirable
- Any exposure to security, risk, compliance, governance, or technology controls.
- Experience working with architecture teams and producing artefacts that support traceability.
