Role Summary
The Business Analyst supports the successful delivery of strategic and significant change initiatives across the organisation by providing high-quality analysis, structured documentation and clear insight to support decision-making and delivery.
The role contributes to the development and implementation of target operating models, business process documentation, and requirements definition, working closely with Project Execution, business stakeholders, technology teams and control functions.
The Business Analyst helps ensure that business analysis activity is aligned to Change Management standards and supports consistent, practical and effective change delivery across Marex.
Overview Of Marex / Department Description
Marex has unique access across markets with significant share globally both on and off exchange. The depth of knowledge amongst its teams and divisions provides its customers with clear advantage, and its technology-led service provides access to all major exchanges, order-flow management via screen, voice and DMA, plus award-winning data, insights and analytics.
This role sits in the Change Management team within Change & Integration at Marex. It provides Business Analysis support as part of a centre of excellence, applying standardised methodologies to document current and future business booking models, trading flows and functional processes for prioritised programmes and projects, as agreed by the Global Head of Transformation and Change.
Responsibilities:
- Support strategic and priority change initiatives, with a strong focus on acquisitions, integration and business change.
- Partner with Programme and Project Managers, sponsors, business stakeholders, technology teams and control functions to shape scope, delivery plans, dependencies, risks and intended outcomes.
- Develop a clear understanding of acquisition scope, strategic rationale, key risks, assumptions and functional impacts to support mobilisation, planning and decision-making.
- Translate due diligence findings into structured gap analysis, requirements, target operating model inputs and planning actions.
- Elicit, analyse and validate requirements, user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria, ensuring they are clear, prioritised, traceable and aligned to delivery needs.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and playback sessions, including preparing workshop plans, artefact lists, review packs, sign-off checklists and open-item trackers.
- Map current-state and target-state processes, booking models, trading flows, data flows, system dependencies and integration flows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Develop target operating model artefacts covering people, process, technology, data, controls, governance, reporting, operational readiness and handover requirements.
- Support solution validation and user acceptance testing, including test scenario development, requirement clarification, defect triage and evidence-based SME validation.
- Maintain consistent BA standards, templates, documentation practices and reusable artefacts to support governance, audit, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to assess complex business issues, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Advanced business process mapping and modelling skills, including the ability to document current and target states clearly and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Good understanding of target operating models and the ability to translate business change into practical impacts across people, process, technology, data, controls and governance.
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, facilitate discussions, influence constructively and align stakeholders across business, technology and control functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured documentation and present complex information in a concise and accessible way.
- Collaborative and approachable team player who supports a positive working environment and contributes to shared team standards and ways of working.
- Resilient, adaptable and delivery-focused, able to manage competing priorities and maintain quality in fast-paced or challenging environments.
- Intellectual curiosity, a continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to developing BA capability and reusable best practice.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in supporting mergers and acquisitions is strongly preferred.
- Proven business analysis background across strategic transformation, operational or business change initiatives within financial services or another regulated environment.
- Good understanding of end-to-end operational flows within financial institutions, including front-to-back processes, controls, data and reporting considerations.
- Strong capability in defining and validating requirements, user stories, business rules, acceptance criteria and supporting artefacts for delivery, testing and operational readiness.
- Skilled in producing high-quality BA documentation, including process maps, use cases, impact assessments, gap analyses and target-state artefacts.
- Confident in supporting solution validation and user acceptance testing, including test scenario development, requirement clarification and defect triage.
- Familiarity with reporting, workflow or portfolio management tools; Power BI, Microsoft Planner or similar tools are desirable.
- Knowledge of risk, compliance and governance requirements relevant to working in a regulated environment.
