FDM Business Analyst Opportunity
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a contract opportunity with strong potential for extension and will be a hybrid role based in Glasgow or Cheshire.
Our client is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a major business transformation programme, helping define and implement retention and archive processes associated with the transition of critical business information and records. The successful candidate will play a key role from project mobilisation through build and delivery, working closely with stakeholders to define requirements, establish processes, and support successful implementation.
Responsibilities
- Support the definition and development of retention and archive processes and associated business requirements.
- Conduct high-level and detailed analysis of business processes, use cases, workflows, and information management requirements.
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define future-state processes and operational approaches.
- Produce detailed process flows, requirements documentation, and supporting analysis artefacts for delivery teams.
- Support planning, estimation, and delivery activities by providing clear and actionable requirements.
- Manage stakeholder workshops, gather feedback, and obtain approvals on key deliverables.
- Provide ongoing support throughout build, testing, implementation, and post-delivery activities.
- Work independently to manage analysis workstreams, priorities, and deliverables.

About You
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within large-scale business or technology transformation programmes.
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, business analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience producing high-quality business requirements, user journeys, process flows, and functional documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Experience supporting projects through the full lifecycle from discovery and analysis to implementation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery environments.
- Knowledge of data migration projects and information lifecycle management is highly desirable.
- Understanding of data governance, records management, retention policies, and regulatory requirements within Financial Services or Insurance environments would be advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Business Analysis roles supporting complex change initiatives.
