Role Overview
This position is within the Trade Surveillance Technology team, focused on defining, designing, and delivering Market Abuse Trade Surveillance solutions covering Trade and pre-Trade business activity.

Business & Requirement Define
- Collaborate with Compliance Surveillance teams and Product Owners to establish and prioritise business requirements.

Act as Business Analyst
- Document functional and non-functional requirements in detailed, actionable terms.
- Partner with development and QA teams to ensure on-time delivery of a reliable solution that aligns with business needs.
Testing & Validation
- Define acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate the effectiveness of the solution.
- Develop strategies for effectively testing changes.
Data & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with upstream application/data owners to explore:
- Changes on their platforms
- Updated Surveillance data requirements
- Familiarize with vendor technical teams to understand:
- Capabilities and limitations of third-party surveillance solutions
Project Planning & Team Contribution
- Provide realistic effort estimates for project planning.
- Actively engage in Agile processes (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).
Experience & Competences
Essential
✅ 5+ years in a Business Analyst role ✅ Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle (pre and post-trade operations) ✅ Profound knowledge of:
- Financial transactional data
- Associated reference data ✅ Experience working with:
- Surveillance or regulatory platforms ✅ SQL and database querying proficiency ✅ Experience with:
- Data mapping
- Message protocol standards (JSON, XML, FIX) ✅ Familiarity with:
- MAR (Market Abuse Regulation)
- MiFID II regulations ✅ Expertise across multiple asset classes
- Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, FX ✅ Experience in:
- Software development projects
- Data integration initiatives
- Agile delivery frameworks ✅ Skilled at:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (finance, compliance, technical roles)

Desired (SolelyPreferred but Helpful)
🔹 Familiarity with different Market Abuse Trade Surveillance models 🔹 Experience calibrating Market Abuse Surveillance models 🔹 Work with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls 🔹 Exposure to Exchange Traded Derivative (ETD) data 🔹 Familiarity with Market Data providers 🔹 Experience building data completeness controls 🔹 Advancing dashboards in Qlik or PowerBi 🔹 Understanding of the business models of Inter-Dealer Brokers 🔹 Experience using third-party vendor solutions 🔹 Knowledge of AWS deployment processes
