Role: Senior Business Architect
We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our UK Change Execution team in the role of Senior Business Architect. UK Change Execution is a division of the HSBC UK COO organisation that enables transformational change in HSBC UK, guided by our strategic ambitions and delivered through an agile way of working.
You’ll play a key role acting in an Enterprise Architecture capacity. This is a leadership role in the UK Change Execution team, directly reporting to the Head of Business Architecture & Design. You will deliver the linkage from Business Strategy to cohesive designs for business plans. This is done by defining and using standard and consistent language to describe HSBC and how it operates.
Responsibilities
In this role you’ll:
- Lead and apply a business architecture framework to help operationalise key business outcomes using an agile value stream methodology, including defining clear business objectives, OKRs, and expressing these outcomes through delivered epics and features
- Oversee and support the execution of architecture initiatives
- Understand and shape the business operating model changes to achieve the vision and work closely with the primary change programmes. This includes understanding of change roadmaps to ensure that architecture, technology, and transformation services are optimized for delivery
- Translate the key strategic initiatives into a coherent design
- Support integration of businesses and tech strategy through identification of common capabilities and convergence of key delivery value streams and optimised customer journeys
- Support Business Architecture Tooling implementation
- Contribute to group business architecture framework development
- Provide judgment and expertise across all aspects of area of responsibility

Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- A background in either Retail Banking / Wealth or Commercial Banking is recommended but must have a strong knowledge of the UK market
- Proven experience working in business strategy, business architecture and design or broader experience in Transformation or Technology delivery roles
- Ability to grasp complex business and technology problems and design solutions to address these; understanding of technical design of digital capabilities across the layers of the technology stack
- Demonstrable experience analysing the current state of an organisation, design future-state operating models, and define capability maps and value streams to ensure technology and process changes align directly with overarching business goal
- Proven experience using AI to help enhance processes
- Analytical skills to derive insight from large amounts of imperfect data and information
- Ability to take a commercial stance when evaluating architecture decisions
- Ability to influence a large and diverse set of stakeholders, including at an executive committee level
